While many in Singapore are struggling with our circuit breaker measures, there are many others in various parts of the world who have had it a whole lot worse - total lockdowns and even strict curfew timings imposed. If we stepped back to observe, it’s really interesting to see all the ways different people respond or react to having such restrictions imposed on them.
Certainty - What our brains crave for
It is widely accepted fact that the scientific community refers to our brains as Social Brains. This does not only means that our brains (and therefore us) need social interactions. But there is a lot of research out there that points to the fact that there are specific “social domains” that impact our brains quite significantly, causing us to experience emotional responses that could impact our performance, our judgement, our rationality.
No time like the present
Covid-19 has been a massive pain in the neck, no two ways about it. Sure it gets rather depressing when you’re inundated with countless daily reports of new cases and clusters but let’s be honest, apart from staying home and masking up when we go out - what can we do about it? The answer sadly, is nothing.
