Putting Tips
By Justin Han, Director of Golf Performance 360
Here’s a great drill for you if you’re struggling with controlling your wrists , arms and shoulders in your putting motion.
Controlling these components is key to both distance and direction
A) Grab 2 clubs, preferably your wedges and grip them such that they form an ‘X’ with the shafts tucked under the armpits
B) Simply make a stroke with your arms and shoulders, keeping your body centered as you move the hand , arm and shoulder segments together
C) Do this slowly for about 5-10 times before you pick up your putter again.
D) Now with putter in hand, focus on the connection between hands, arms and shoulders.
E) Go ahead and strike a few putts and try your best to replicate the feel and thoughts that went into the drill.
Give this drill a go and you should feel more confident when you get out there on the course after this long CoVid-induced break from golf.
